These insects have a moth-like appearance due to their hairy bodies and wide wings. Their presence can indicate plumbing sanitation issues.
Eye gnats are known to hover around human and animal noses, mouths, and eyes. They often transmit diseases like pink eye (conjunctivitis). Some eye gnats will even attempt to feed on eyes and open wounds. They have shiny black or gray bodies and light-brown legs.
